...a U of C student. So, exactly what is life like here? It differs from person to person (obviously) but one thing just about everybody agrees on is that there's a lot of homework to do. I have classes starting at 9am or 10:30 depending on the day, and usually get up early enough to get some decent breakfast in the dining hall (about once a week, I get up extra early for a shower). I have classes in the morning, then classes in the afternoon, which basically means I have a few hours in between to do homework that's either due that afternoon or in the following day. After my afternoon classes, I usually do some more homework, then grab some dinner. In the evenings, there are various meetings, math problem sessions, lectures, study breaks, student organized events, etc to attend to that provide some form of relief before plunging back into more homework. On a good day, I'll manage to finish everything by around 10pm, although some days I'll be on campus until past midnight. Needless to say, there isn't much else to do after going home apart from sleeping.

So where's my social life? Well, it's interspersed. A quick chat on the quads or having lunch or dinner with other people pretty much is the extent of my social life on most weekdays. On rare occasions, I might go visit friends in other dorms after finishing homework, although that's more of an exception. I guess people who live in dorms that aren't as anti-social as mine tend to have more active social lives there too. Weekends, though, are a different story. I usually don't do any homework on Friday afternoons, and usually don't do much school work on Saturdays either, which means I get to hang out with my friends. Then comes Sunday, which really is another weekday. Only difference is, it's totally dedicated to homework...
