I first went to the market... (in picture: meat isle, but you can see me holding oranges in the mirror towards the right of the picture).

And got some sugar and oranges...

Then I cut the peel into 8ths, and separated the fruit.

I then I left the thin peel slices in water over night (note: don't use a metal pot... I transferred the mixture into a tupperware after taking the photo)

The next morning, I started boiling the peel slices. The cloth in there is actually a bag (which I also made) that contains pulp and membrane. The juice was squeezed out of the fruit, and is also in the pot.

Once the peels are tender, take out the cloth bag, add sugar, and bring to a rolling boil. After a while, the concoction thickens... I don't know how thick it was supposed to be, but I had it boiling for about half an hour. At the end, I got enough to just fill a 32oz jar...

I dumped half of it to a smaller jar for preservation...

Now for the fun part! Chow down on some marmalade... best served with toast (I used sourdough I brought from the US).

Conclusion: In short, it was very yummy. I probably could've sliced the peel even thinner (most of them were okay, but a few thicker pieces got snuck in). It's not as solid as marmalade you get at the shop, but that might be because it hasn't completely coagulated yet. But the fact that it's home made more than makes up for it.
