This article on Wired talks about Martin Cooper, the inventor of cell phones. Apparently, he wants to make a cell phone that "fits behind his ear, automatically dials out when he thinks about calling someone". Now that sounds like a bad idea to me... I mean, most people probably think about calling someone far more than they actually do.
"Hello?"Yeah, that just wouldn't be pretty. Well, it might be okay for most people, but for socially inept people like myself, it would simply be disastrous.
"Uh... hello?"
"Oh hey, it's you. What's up?"
"Um... I, uh... Well, I was thinking about calling you..."
"Really? How nice..."
"...but I really wasn't going to actually call you."
"Oh, that's okay..."
"No, you don't understand... I haven't figured out what to say after calling you. So I'll call you back later."
