I've been holding out all these years, but I finally broke down and bought an iPod Photo yesterday. The iPod Shuffle broke my will, price cuts silenced my wallet, my friend enticed me into buying his old 20GB iPod, and from there, it was all down hill... I went to the Apple Store planning on buying a 20GB iPod, and ended up getting the iPod Photo instead.
It was rather impulsive, but I'm actually glad I got the iPod Photo instead of the non-photo iPod. The color screen is so much sharper and more responsive than the monocrome screen, so when you're scrolling (or playing games) things are simply easier to see. Also, I actually think it's somewhat useful to carry pictures around, especially when I travel and people inevitably want to see pictures (I'm also quite confident that either Apple or someone else will figure out a way to play movies on this thing; the hardware is certainly up to it). Finally, as it turns out, even though I only have 6GB of music, I have plenty of things that need to get stored so I'll be utilizing that extra storage space.

i'm the proud owner of a first gen ipod, 5gb, i still have yet to entirely fill it with music. the ipod photo is the first edition that tempts to trade up, but alas i am too poor. plus i have some good memories with mine, back when they were new and shiny it gave me a good excuse to talk to cute geeky guys, er or them with me. actually that was the reason my boyfriend first spoke to me. ah memories. :)
