I finally started working on my kernel for the Operating Systems class, and as I expected, I totally got into it. There's little in life I enjoy more than getting dirty with bits and bytes in C, and there are few better ways to get dirty with bits and bytes than to write a memory manager for an operating system. Some people are surprised when they hear that I prefer PHP over Per and C over C++, but I think it's just that if I want to get nasty I'll use C, otherwise I'll use PHP which lets me make things with minimal effort.
Having said that, I think I should learn more Perl if I want to try and get a job here...
