Assuming I don't die and/or fail classes this quarter and next, it appears I'll be gradumacating. Despite my appearances to the contrary (well, okay, so some of you haven't seen me in a while -or at all) I've been thinking more and more about what to do next.
I know I'm not going to grad school, at least not right away. So I'll either sell my Apple stocks and see how long that'll feed me, move back in with one of my parents, or work. If I'm going to work, I'll definitely have to try and get a job somewhere cool... Companies I've picked so far are:
- Jobs I won't get, but will apply for anyway...
- Cool places with jobs (I qualify for)
- Yahoo - Somewhat lacking in the "cool" department, but they are the biggest user of PHP
- Amazon - A couple of alumni from here (and my current job) work there and it's apparently pretty cool.
- Six Apart - Apart from the fact that they're predominantly a Perl shop, I think I'd be a good fit...
- The Facebook - They have lots of users, probably will grow, and the creator's sister goes to school here
- Friendster - This one woman at OSCON last year told me to come talk to them (they use PHP)
- Fog Creek - I wouldn't mind working for Joel (of Joel on Software fame)
- Iloha.net - I hear that Ryo dude's cool, but apparently they don't make any money :-(
