I'm back in LA for the next few days. Some thoughts...
- I definitely prefer Chicago, as a city, over LA. There's just something unpleasant about this place.
- Went clothes shopping (sort of) with my mom, and bought a pair of pants for the next year. The one problem with having one pair (or two pairs at most) of pants is that it tends to get holey and worn out after a year or so, forcing me to go clothes shopping yet again after a year. I wish my pants lasted 6-8 years like my T-shirts do.
- Performance improvements I made to IlohaMail 0.9 are definitely noticeable when connected via modem. If I don't use SSL, it only feels marginally slower than it does with SSL on the UofC network.
- Grrr to my mom who refuses to turn on the AC unless it's insanely hot... And grr for the lack of wind which could make it as cool inside as it is out.
- Mmm... anvil. It's a little smaller than I'd anticipated, but makes it feel that much heavier.
- Somebody needs to be honest. Do I seriously look as horrible with facial hair as my mom thinks I do? I'm not particularly against shaving; it's just that it's gotten to the point where I need scissors to cut it and I'm too lazy.
- My new driver's license is here (7 months after it expired)... with the same picture from 2001. Scary to think I'll have that same picture until 2009. Yay for being able to drive with a valid license. Boo for having to drive.

I'd vote for shaving, myself. Also, I don't even have to get home to know that I prefer Chicago to it. Also also, I should still probably pack my stuff and get to Union Station at some point. Yay trains.
