As you probably know, I consider myself to be a liberal. But even then, stupid closedminded "liberals" piss me off just as much as stupid closedminded conservatives.
Case in point. This kid did a presentation in my "Computer's Impact on Society" class, and he talked about "Globalization". Except, it wasn't the same "Globlization" that I've heard of... so I'm not entirely sure what he was talking about. But I digress...
In anycase, what pissed me off was the fact that his single source seemed to be Michael Moore. Everything he said was quoted (accurately and inaccurately) from "Stupid White Men" and "Bowling for Columbine". Now, I don't have anything against Michael Moore. In fact, I think most of the work he's done is great, and is something our society needs. But what this guy failed to understand was that Michael Moore is no less biased than the "coporate" media. He's got an agenda just like everybody else who has anything to say, and like anyone else with an agenda, you gotta listen to their words with a grain (or two) of salt.
IMHO, being "liberal" isn't about what you believe in, but how you believe in something. The what of any political point of view changes so rapidly, there's no way you could keep up (hence the quote: it only takes 40 years for a liberal to turn conservative). But the how will never change.
You didn't believe everything I said did you? Can you say "grain of salt?" Good.
