I watched a couple of movies today. I watched "State and Main" at MrHode's place. It was pretty funny, and there were some great one liners. A couple of my favorite (they might not be exactly right, but close enough):
It's not a lie, it's "gift for fiction".
Everybody has to make their own fun. Otherwise it's called "entertainment".
Then we went to the midnight movie at the El Ray, which was "Princess Mononoke". In general, I liked it, but I think I would've preferred a non-happy ending. Happy endings tend to gloss things over, and you know how much the "truth" means to me... Especially with a movie like Mononoke, it's pretty obvious that humans would not have returned the forest spirit's head. History has shown that humans would rather die trying to fulfill their greedy ambitions, than to make sacrifices for the greater good.
Cynical? Who, me? Never... I'm just realistic.
