I got a 30GB iPod Photo today (more on that later) and since I only have like 6GB of music, I decided to actually put my photos on it. So I started organizing my photos, and it turns out my archives go back nearly a decade to 1996 (when my dad got a QV-10, one of the first affordable digital cameras). From 1997, I present you my desktop of my the primay machine:

I think this is from my Performa 6220 running System 7.5 (possibly 7.6), with something like 24MB of RAM and a 1.2GB hard drive. Also, note the ThinkPascal icon on the desktop...
I've been holding out all these years, but I finally broke down and bought an iPod Photo yesterday. The iPod Shuffle broke my will, price cuts silenced my wallet, my friend enticed me into buying his old 20GB iPod, and from there, it was all down hill... I went to the Apple Store planning on buying a 20GB iPod, and ended up getting the iPod Photo instead.
It was rather impulsive, but I'm actually glad I got the iPod Photo instead of the non-photo iPod. The color screen is so much sharper and more responsive than the monocrome screen, so when you're scrolling (or playing games) things are simply easier to see. Also, I actually think it's somewhat useful to carry pictures around, especially when I travel and people inevitably want to see pictures (I'm also quite confident that either Apple or someone else will figure out a way to play movies on this thing; the hardware is certainly up to it). Finally, as it turns out, even though I only have 6GB of music, I have plenty of things that need to get stored so I'll be utilizing that extra storage space.
