It's no particular "yay", but more of a general yayness, which is always a good thing. It's been almost exactly a week since I got back (plus or minus an hour), and life has been very good. I'm happy with all my classes, as opposed to just most of them, as the case was last quarter. This quarter, I'm taking the same 3 core classes (calculus, sosc:classics, hum:world lit) and "Information Theory and Coding" for my compsci class. Unlike my last compsci class, this one's all theory and no coding, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. We also have a proper prof for Hum, and the fact that he specializes in Dante adds to the class considerably (since we're reading Dante's Inferno). Oh, and I got a locker in the Reg (2nd floor, right by my favorite desk), so I can leave all my books and a stash of food there (read: more Reg time for Ryo).
On the non-school side, I'm still mostly just doing Doc and FireEscape, both of which I had today (at the same time, infact). I'm APing for the Sunday evening show (theme: Czech), and I learned how to load up 16mm film today. And, since 16mm film breaks really really easily, I also got to splice broken film. The projectionist is also really cool, and I exchanged more words with her in just one hour than I did with my last projectionist over the entire quarter. At 7pm (which is when the show was supposed to start), I bailed and went to the FireEscape meeting, where, on a whim, I told people that I would be happy to let people join our Ducky Project. Lo and behold, I got two and a third gaggles (7) of storywriters, so we all of a sudden went from being a 3-person project to a 10-person project. Now that I'm really a project leader, the pressure is somewhat intimidating... but hopefully we'll come up with a kick-ass story to go with the kick-ass special effects. I also offered to help edit another project, so we'll see how that pans out. I also re-edited the project I worked on last quarter, so that it doesn't suck nearly as badly now. I'll be posting that online pretty soon as well.
The only bad news is that the temperature has gone above freezing and the snow is melting. But all things considered, life's pretty good.
