Mac "clone"?
Via Slashdot: There's a review of Pegasos, a PPC (G3/G4) based machine designed to run MorpheOS or Debian. Apparently the thing can also run MacOS or MacOS X via Mac-On-Linux, but according to the review, it takes 1-2 seconds for mouse clicks to register... Maybe it'd be worth using just so that MacOS X would seem really zippy when you switch back to a real Mac.
Personally, I'm not too interested (although I support the effort), mostly because my new PowerBook should be arriving any day now, and I also have no plans on breaking my 5 year old habit of using a laptop (PowerBook or iBook) as my main machine. Of course, I might have to change all that when the PPC 970 based Mac comes out.
Chicago!
No, I'm not talking about the movie/musical... I'm talking about University of Chicago. Yes, I got my acceptance letter today!!
See extended post for excited rambling...
