    Cindy Sheehan

Cindy Sheehan visited Chico today. I went to her talk at Chico State. Here are some of the points she made that struck me:

People who want US troops in Iraq are in a severe minority world wide. They are a minority of US citizens, they are a minority of US troops, and more importantly they are a minority of Iraqi citizens. And now the Iraqi parliament has voted and a minority of them want the US to stay.

Currently the biggest road block to increased investigation of the Bush investigation, impeachment of Dick Cheney, and subsequent impeachment of George W Bush is Nancy Pelosi. According to Sheehan Dennis Kucinich is having difficulty gaining support for impeachment of Dick Cheney largely because of Pelosi. Pelosi has stated that impeachment is off the table. Sheehan says impeachment is essential.

Sheehan also mentioned that the Green Party had approached her about being their presidential candidate, but she declined.

It was a great talk, and the crowd was very appreciative. Surprisingly there was only one crazy hippy question (it concerned chemtrails) from the large crowd, and Sheehan diverted it well.
