The department secretary where I work and her husband are opening a new restaurant, The Chameleon Cafe, in Chico next week. To give their chefs and wait staff some practice she invited a bunch of people for a two hour taste testing yesterday. It was fantastic! They served us about half of their menu and everything was great. We were supposed to critique the food and service but we couldn't come up with much criticism. The only things I heard were overcooked muffins and wattery quiche but those complaints were far outweighed by the compliments. If I had realized they were going to feed us so many of their dishes I would have paced myself better, after an hour I was full and had to stop. They served us approximately three salads, three omelletes, a sandwitch, potatoes, eggs, eggs benedict, bacon, muffins, three desserts along with coffee and juice. I stopped eating around noon and wasn't hungry again until about 6:00 PM. If you live in Chico or ever pass through definately check this place out. It is located where Sin of Cortez used to be, on the corner of 5th and Walnut.
